Bumi Resources to Share 30% Dividends

VIVAnews - PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) indicated that it will share dividends by 30 percent of the total 2008 net profit of US$645.36 million. The dividends will be proposed during an annual general meeting of shareholders in June 2009.

Bumi will share dividends totaling to US$193.61 million.

"The management will propose 30 percent of profit sharing as 2008 dividends in an annual general meeting of shareholders by June 2009," Bumi Resources Vice President of Investor Relations, Dileep Srivastava, told VIVAnews in Jakarta on Thursday, April 2.

Srivastava said the 30 percent dividends sharing has been the company's formal policy since 2007. Bumi has not yet modified the policy until today. "We are yet to consider any change," he said.

Earlier, Bumi recorded revenues in 2008 valued at US$3.38 billion or an increase of 49.14 percent compared to the previous year's US$2.26 billion. In addition, net profit was recorded US$645.36 million, a 18.2 percent decrease compared to the previous US$789 billion.

Meanwhile, Bumi Resources shares in Thursday at 10.45 am trade gained Rp 10 (1.14 percent) at Rp 880.
